FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the things people most often want to know before starting HiTutor.

What kind of service is HiTutor?

HiTutor is an AI language-learning service that helps you build speaking and listening skills through natural, ongoing conversations with an AI tutor. Unlike traditional learning apps built around memorizing words or choosing correct answers—and unlike general voice chatbots that simply respond to commands—HiTutor understands what you say and guides the next part of the conversation around your level and interests.

It is designed to move you beyond simply knowing a language toward actually using it, with an experience centered on listening, thinking, answering in your own words, and listening again.

Which languages can I learn?

We are preparing support for English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French, and German.

The languages available at launch may vary. We will share the confirmed lineup in our launch announcement.

Do I need to choose a level or prepare anything first?

No. HiTutor does not test you or ask you to complete complicated settings before you begin. You can simply start with whatever you are able to say right now.

Instead of fitting every learner into a fixed curriculum, HiTutor gradually understands your level, interests, and speaking pace through conversation, then shapes what comes next so it is neither too easy nor too difficult. The learning adapts to the person—not the other way around. That is one of the clearest ways HiTutor differs from traditional language-learning apps.

Will the conversation stop whenever I make a mistake?

HiTutor does not interrupt you for every small mistake. It first helps the conversation continue naturally.

After the conversation, it organizes the expressions and improvement points that can help you speak more naturally next time.

What feedback will I receive after a conversation?

HiTutor finds specific examples from your actual conversation and shows what you did well, one thing to focus on next, and a more natural way to express yourself.

The goal is not to point out mistakes for the sake of grading you. It is to help you speak better in the very next conversation. Useful expressions carry into review, so today’s conversation can improve tomorrow’s.

Are voice conversations stored?

No. HiTutor does not store voice conversation data.

Conversation content is processed in real time so HiTutor can understand and respond, and it does not remain afterward as a complete transcript. However, selected corrections, learning results, and individual sentences needed for feedback and review may be retained as text.

Is Estimated CEFR an official language level?

CEFR—the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages—is a widely used international framework that describes language ability across six levels: A1 and A2 (basic), B1 and B2 (independent), and C1 and C2 (proficient).

HiTutor’s Estimated CEFR is learning-oriented information produced by AI by comparing language-use patterns from your conversations with CEFR criteria. It is not an accredited test result or official certification. Use it as a reference for understanding your current level and how it changes over time.
